The Michelin brand has been available in the Australian market for more than 50 years. It is one of the “big three” global tyre companies with manufacturing and research facilities in all parts of the world. Michelin is fitted as original equipment to some locally made vehicles as well as many imported vehicles from Europe. The local range includes Pilot Sport, Pilot Premacy, Pilot Preceda, MXV8 and XM1.

A major commitment to motorsport has been a cornerstone of Michelins development over many years. Michelin has commitments to Formula 1 and the World Rally Championship, as well as to the major motorcycle sports including the Moto GP.

XCD – multi-purpose tyre

The Michelin XCD tyre is designed for a range of applications – pickups, vans and light trucks. The full width steel belts give an extra safety margin when carrying heavy loads. Three circumferential tread grooves channel away water effectively during wet weather to maintain high grip levels.

The 2-ply polyester casing gives a quieter road and absorbs impacts on bumpy road surfaces whilst increasing overall durability. Tyre life has been significantly lengthened as the result of the use of a special durable tread compound engineered for tough conditions.
